新年明けましておめでとうございます！

本年もロンドンギャラリーを何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます。

さて、ロンドンギャラリー白金よりご案内をさせていただきます。

2021年最初の展示となる今回は、式部輝忠の「梅樹叭々鳥図」屏風が皆様をお迎えいたします。

Welcoming visitors to our first exhibition of the year at Shirokane is a six-fold screen by Shikibu Terutada (active mid-16th century), entitled Mynah Birds in a Blossoming Plum Tree.

その他、縁起が良いとされる、松・竹・梅をモチーフとした作品を多く展示しております。

In addition, we are displaying a variety of works with the auspicious motifs pine, bamboo, and plum.

松は多くの植物が葉を落とす冬でも緑を絶やすことがなく、不老不死や長寿の象徴や魔除けの力があると信じられてきました。

竹は真直ぐと上伸びることと生長の速さから、真直ぐな心と生命力の象徴とされていました。

そして、まだ寒い早春から香りの良い鮮やかな花を咲かせる梅は希望を連想させるそうです。

まだまだ暗いニュースが続いており、中々日常は戻ってまいりませんが少しでも皆様のもと素敵な出来事が訪れるようお祈り申し上げております！

Unlike many plants that lose their leaves in winter, pines remain green all year round, making them symbols of perpetual youth, longevity, and even immortality. Bamboo grows straight upward and develops quickly, making it a symbol of vitality and straightforwardness. Finally, the plum blooms beautifully despite the cold of early spring, reminding us to have hope even in the hardest of times.

With dark news persisting, we are unable to get our lives back to normal, but with this exhibition we hope that there is good coming your way this year.

また白金アートコンプレックスの1階入り口に弊廊の看板が登場いたしました！

東大寺二月堂の古材を使用しており、「倫敦画廊」の文字は現代美術家の杉本博司さんに書いていただきました。

We also have a new sign at the first floor entrance of the Shirokane Art Complex. Contemporary artist Sugimoto Hiroshi did us the pleasure of writing "London Gallery" in kanji on an old board from the Nigatsudo of Todaiji in Nara.
