展示のお知らせ【白金】 2020年8月29日～10月3日

Exhibition Rotation Announcement, August 29 - October 3, 2020

長かった梅雨がやっと開けた途端に猛烈な暑さとなり、コロナ対策のマスクや換気もしなくてはならず、例年以上暑さが身にしみる夏ですが皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

ロンドンギャラリー白金より展示替えのお知らせをさせていただきます。

今回皆様をお迎えいたしますのは雲谷派の「蘆千鳥・梅竹図屏風」でございます。本作は2018年に山口県立美術館で開催された「没後400年　雲谷等顔」展に出展した作品です。

No sooner did the long rainy season come to an end, then the intense heat settled in. With masks on and windows open, we hope this finds you well in this unusually hot summer.

Welcoming visitors to our latest rotation at the Shirokane gallery, we have on display a pair of Unkoku school screens, Plovers in the Reeds, Bamboo and Plum, which were displayed in the 2018 exhibition "Unkoku Togan: 400th Memorial Retrospective" (Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum).

冬の水辺や夏を感じさせる水景、春景などが右隻・左隻にそれぞれ描かれており、穏やかで繊細さが感じられる作品でございます。

It is a tranquil, sensitive piece with a winter waterscape featuring 54 plovers in the right screen, and an early spring scene with a blossoming plum tree in the left.

また、ギャラリーの奥には狩野元信の「松梅に小禽図」を展示しております。

Also on display toward the back of the gallery is a painting by Kano Motonobu, Small Bird with Pine and Plum.

本作は2007年京都国立博物館で開催された「特別展覧会　狩野永徳」展に出展しました。狩野元信（1476 -1559）は、狩野派の祖である狩野正信を父にもち、漢画の技法に大和絵の表現を取り入れつつ、のちの狩野派様式の基礎を築いた絵師でございます。

松と梅の周囲には小禽が添えられ、早春の情景が描き出されております。

狩野派と雲谷派、二つの画派を見比べながらご鑑賞いただければと存じます。

In 2007, this work was displayed at the Kyoto National Museum's special exhibition, "Kano Eitoku: Momoyama Painter Extraordinaire". Kano Motonobu (1476 - 1559) was the son of the founder of the Kano school, Masanobu (1434? - 1530?), who combined the techniques of Chinese painting with the expressive style of Japanese painting in creating the foundations of the Kano school style. Here Motonobu gives expression to a scene in early spring, with a small bird flying among pine and plum trees.

We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to compare the Kano and Unkoku schools.

仏教美術では南北朝時代の厨子の扉絵と思われる作品を展示しております。

大きな作品で迫力もあり見応えがございます。

In terms of Buddhist art, we have on display a pair of large cabinet doors thought to date to the Nabokucho period (1336 - 1392). Their impressive scale makes them really worth seeing.

その他、八稜鏡や宝塔、泉福寺経なども展示しております。

Also on display are a foliate mirror, a stone pagoda, a fragment of the so-called Senpukuji sutra, and others interesting works.
