橋本雅也「間なるもの－霧のあと－」展 ～12月14日(土)まで

Hashimoto Masaya - Things In Between - After the Mist Exhibition, until Saturday December 14

早いもので今年もいよいよ残り１ヵ月でございます。

ロンドンギャラリー白金にて開催中の展覧会、
橋本雅也「間なるもの－霧のあと－」展。

ご好評いただいております本展も終盤に差し掛かってまいりました。

寒い毎日が続くなか、多くの方に足をお運びいただき、只々感謝しております
お越しいただく皆さまは橋本の彫刻作品の繊細さや美しさに驚かれるとともに、
今回初の試みでしたコロタイプ印刷にもご興味を持ってくださいます！

１９世紀にヨーロッパで生まれた顔料による写真プリント技法である
コロタイププリント。
再現度の高さもさることながら、その不思議な物質感に魅了されます。
そしてなんといってもとても美しいです！！

With only one month left before the end of 2019, the year seems to have flown by. Accordingly, so too comes to an end the exhibition of Hashimoto Masaya's work that we are currently showing at the gallery in Shirokane. We are grateful to all of you who came in spite of the cold to come see the show.

Along with his delicate sculptures, visitors to the show had the opportunity to enjoy a collotype printed photograph of one of his works, which is something we tried here for the first time. The collotype print was first developed in Europe in the mid-19th century, and is a fascinating technique not only for its ability to reproduce images in fine detail, but also for the incredible materiality it imbues its subjects with. The results are truly beautiful.

こちらの作品を制作するにあたり、京都 便利堂様にお世話になりました。

作家自身も現場に足を運び、技術者（職人）と何度か打ち合わせに伺ったのですが…。

Benrido, the collotype atelier in Kyoto, printed these works for us.

The artist himself went to Kyoto numerous times to consult with the technicians there....

印刷という言葉からは想像できないほど手作業であり、
古い機械からは歴史の長さが感じ取れました。

現在日本では唯一、便利堂さんでのみ続いているコロタイプ印刷。
そのお力をお借りして、橋本の美しい作品が素晴らしい技術により
来年度には作品集になる予定でございます！

完成いたしましたらまたご報告させていただきますが、

It is a process that involves a great deal of manual labor, in which one can feel the long history of the technique. It is difficult to imagine all that is involved with the word "print" alone.

Benrido is now the only place in Japan that has continuously produced these prints over the years. Borrowing their exceptional skills, we plan to publish a collotype printed photo album of Hashimoto's beautiful work next year. Of course, we will make an announcement once the album is finished, but first we recommend you all take advantage of this opportunity to see an original collotype print firsthand!
