展示会のご案内【白金】6月1日（土）～7月6日（土）

Opening of our Latest Exhibition (Saturday June 1st - Saturday July 7th)

London Gallery 白金より、展示替えのご案内をさせていただきます。

現在、ロンドンギャラリー白金にて仏像を中心とした展示会を開催しております。

平安～鎌倉時代を中心に、中国の石仏などもお目見えします。

We are now exhibiting a range of Buddhist sculptures at the gallery in Shirokane, focusing mainly on Japanese works from the Heian and Kamakura periods, and also including Chinese stone sculpture.




弥勒菩薩立像【鎌倉時代】

こちらは八方な透明水晶かガラスを填装した見事な光背や装飾味豊かな宝冠、胸飾が見事な大変見応えのある仏像さまでございます。

また切金技法を用いた地蔵菩薩、一木造・寄木造などの制作技法の違い、時代背景に触れていただければ幸いに存じます。

皆さまのお越しをお待ち申し上げております。

This sculpture of Maitreya is a Kamakura period masterpiece, its intricate mandorla adorned with eight glass discs, the jeweled crown also retaining many of its original beads and semi-precious stones, and even the metalwork around the chest is a marvel of craftsmanship to behold.

Reflecting the times they were made, we also have a sculpture of Jizō bosatsu adorned with kirigane (cut strips of gold foil), examples of ichiboku carving (made from a single piece of wood), as well as yosegizukuri, or works assembled from various pieces of wood.
